Body Comp Smart Scale
This scale is fantastic! My wife and I both use it to track our fitness progress and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to do the same. The key is to measure consistently at the same time of day. For instance, we weigh in at the beginning of the day before we’ve had anything to eat for the most accurate results. The app is very user friendly and it is not difficult at all for my wife and I to have separate profiles. The scale somehow recognizes who is standing on it and attributes those stats to the correct profile. The information it tracks is very useful and not gimmicky like a lot of the smart scales out there that inundate you with pretty useless data. The body fat and lean mass percentages, cardiovascular age, and metabolic age and are really interesting to track. The quality of the scale is very high. It feels solid and durable. It looks very clean and hasn’t gotten dirty even after about a month of use.If you’re looking for a smart scale, this is the one. It’s more accurate than virtually all other feet-only scales. For twice the money you can get the hand held electrode reader to increase accuracy by about .5% but for us it was not worth the extra money. The body comp was the way to go for us.

Worth the money.
This is going to be long. I bought this scale for part of my 65 pound weight loss journey. I found that the ECG reported “inconclusive” like 90% of the times. It also showed my heart rate consistently 100-140. I was certain the scale was defective, because my pulse oximeters all reported my heart rate in the 60’s and 70’s just before using the scale.I was wrong. The scale was/is accurate. Digging deeper, I found that the FDA has authorized ECG algorithms only for pulse rates below 100. Higher (tachycardia), the waveforms are to close together to be analyzed correctly. Trying to document to Withings tech support what I thought was an error by the scale reading my heart rate, I discovered that when I stood up, my heart rate rapidly jumps to over 100. You have to stand up to use a scale. The times I successfully got an ECG result were all the times my pulse was lower than 100.The Withings Body Scan scale helped me identify that I might have POTS. And my high pulse was the problem - NOT a defect in the scale. My Kardia Mobile 6L always provided a 6-lead EKG result, but I was sitting on my bed. It would never have uncovered this issue.Ling in Colorado, it is usually very low humidity. Occasionally, I would get a Body Composition error. If I moisten my feet, or apply a light lotion, then it reads without any errors.

Wildly Inaccurate and Very Slow and Ineffective Help Desk
Inaccurate readings and poor support provided. Started out great and the lbs. were in sync with my old scale. Then started having issues with heart rate/vascular age not showing up. Contacted their Support. Very slow to get a person on the chat. They must have one person working the Help Desk helping other customers because there's an average of a 30-minute gap between answers. 2 hrs. later the recommendation was to hold onto a wall for stability after trying various remedies recommended by Sarah and getting on and off the scale to recalibrate it. Holding onto a wall worked. Problem solved. Then the lbs. went crazy and continued to go crazy each time I stepped on the scale varying wildly between 10-12 lbs. less. Sarah recommended I wait and see if the problem continued, which days later it still did. Would be nice if that weight was true but unfortunately my old scale and the mirror said different. Then after several days of the lower readings, the scale finally caught up to my old scale. But then it didn't recognize me as the User and instead of going through the Measurements, just said See You Later and shut off. Contacted their Support and after another 20–30-minute gap to get a person (because Bot sends you to general answers which didn't have my question), got Sarah again. Confirms my suspicion that she must be the only one working the desk and working other User issues given the long delay between conversations. Followed her instructions of taking batteries out, waiting 60 seconds, putting back in, and waiting another 10 seconds for recalibration. When that didn't work and still not being recognized as the User, was sent into the App to accept all the Unrecognized readings. Was told it would take 2-3 readings to recognize me. On the 3rd try, the App no longer gave me the option to accept the last Unrecognized reading while still not recognizing me as the User. Gave it one more try and on the 4th try the scale recognized me and came up with an accurate lbs. and then went into Measurements. So, the problem was fixed. Not really sure how and certainly not sure what caused the problem to begin with. When I asked Sarah what would have made the scale malfunction like that, after another 30-minute pause, her response was the carpet feet you install on the scale for carpeting may have caused an issue. Well, I never said I had installed the carpet feet on it because I didn't have them installed because I place the scale on a wood floor. When I informed her of that and now another 40 minutes went by, she still didn't have an answer as to what caused the malfunction. I can't waste 2+ hrs. on the computer each time this unit malfunctions and for $200, I expect this unit to work. I've only had this unit for 10 days and already encountered problems and literally hours lost trying to solve them. What else will malfunction that requires more time wasted??? For that reason, I'm returning it for a full refund while my 30-day window to do so is open.
