A perfect piece.
This is hardly "cheap" looking. I also have the same type of statue in white and green Taras. Which I loved so much I'm expanding my collection. Yes the sword is fragile, but it's not going to break by a simple touch. This is a statue it is meant to be looked at, not played with. It has a decent weight when you pick it up, making it feel like you paid more then you have, and you will not have to worry about a breezy knocking it over. I absolutely love mine.

Gorgeous statue. Well made.
This Manjushri statue is well worth the price. It is well made, as are all Summit products, I only buy that brand. I've never been disappointed with any of the statues from Summit.

Very beautiful statue but the color is very black and ugly
I would recommend not buying the statue, because the color is very ugly. But if you buy it you have to paint to another color so it is gold or white. So that it look like Manjushri Buddha. Very beautiful statue but the color is awful. I hope the seller can read this comment. The color is awful, I don't know who sell that type of color but it is awful in my shrine and I have to paint the statue white. Don't buy it if it is black and brownish color, unless the seller change the color to white or gold. I hope the seller can change the color to white or gold, so that Buddha will be respected by people who come into their house. Buddha statues should be made to be respected and honor and pray to, not black and ugly color. That's my opinion, and with all my heart. I think the color should be change or Amazon should never put it up. I thought it was goldish so I bought it, the color is awful. If only Amazon.com could ask the seller to sell it in white or gold color then Amazon.com should let the seller continue selling it. I think this color is very disrespecting to Buddhas and disrespecting to Gods. Change the color to white or gold to be respectable.

Oh yes
This Majushri statue is so beautiful. The pictures may not show its detail and colors. We are thrilled we took a chance on buying this statue because it's more beautiful in person than in the pictures. Made truly well. A statue doesn't always need to be marble to look nice. This one sits great on the altar along with all our others.

This is beautiful, much nicer than my others
This is beautiful, much nicer than my others. Was concerned about the broken sword others have commented on, but mine arrieved very well packaged and I was careful unpacking it. Sword was not a porblem. Better coloring than others. Only problem is this now makes my other ones seem dull.

Beautiful Manjusri Statue
Dont believe any of the bad reviews about the color of this statue. The colors look alot better in person. Whoever said it was ugly in the other review does not sound like a good Buddhist to me. I have five other statues in this same type and I am satisfied with their condition.

Was disappointed because it is hard to find Manjushri Bodhisattva which ...
I bought this statue twice and both times the sword was broken. I had to send it back. Was disappointed because it is hard to find Manjushri Bodhisattva which is used in the Zen meditation hall.

Great statue... But be careful!
I just barely opened up my Manjushri statue from Summit and it's already broken. As I was taking it out of the styrofoam package (which wasn't taped together)the statue started to fall out. Thinking I was going to save it from shattering onto my floor, I quickly grabbed it towards the top end and what happens - my thumb snaps the sword off.... So as another reviewer said, the sword break off easily. Be careful! This statue is definitely not cheaply made, but the sword could be held on better or made a little bit thicker.
