Interesting
I am unsure as to the claims this book is well written and easy to read as I do find the style puerile and editorial mistakes annoying but the information is seemingly accurate. Sometimes I have the sense that the information is underpinned by information from Wikipedia, loosely joined together by a colloquial narrative voice. I am just beginning to seek information on this subject so would need to undertake further research. Overall it’s worth a read.

KABBALAH: The Ultimate Guide for Beginners
Mary Silva is guiding you masterfully through centuries of study of Kabbalah, feeding you knowledge bit by bit.At the first look, KABBALAH: The Ultimate Guide for Beginners Wanting to Understand Hermetic and Jewish Qabalah Along with the Power of Mysticism, seems to be more of a technical book and we are aware that we might get lost between complicated Hebrew words and meanings, but no, we are not. The author will explain everything to you in the simplest way.Starting with the very beginning of Kabbalah (The Torah, written 974 generations before the creation of the world and according to The Zohar, to create the world God looked into it), we are crossing time and space in search of the path of the soul, the divine connection with God. The beginning of Kabbalah is somewhere between 12th century and 13th century in Spain and Southern France and later in the Ottoman Palestine. The essence of Kabbalah is: God is one. To understand Kabbalah we need to see the fine borders between Hermetic Kabbalah, Jewish Qabalah and Mysticism what this book is all about. When it comes to explain the Sephirot, the author will delight us with a very detailed explanation of each of the numerals/aspects. We understand at last the connection existing between EIN SOF (The Infinite, Unknowable God) and the Sephirot ( 10 aspects of God, the instruments of God to act upon human dimension). According to the Kabbalah Creation story, the very first human created was a dual creature with both male and female attributes. After, the God divided the being in 2 : Adam (male) and Eve (female). From this very story, kabbalists believe that all humans are half soul. In order to become one with God , you have to find the other half of the soul.Another important part of the book is dedicated to the 4 worlds of Kabbalah: Atziluth, Beri’ah, Yetzirah, Asiyah and their connection with the 4 elements and astrology. A subtle touch is given also to the 5 levels of the soul and gender in Kabbalah: Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama, Chaya and Yechida. The book would not have been complete if Mary Silva would not mention The Mother Letters: Aleph, Shin and Mem.My favourite part of the work is the one introducing us to the Zohar through the eyes of a teacher, also dedicating a reasonable space to some of the most important kabbalists in the history starting with Adam (The Light of Kabbalah), going to Abraham, Rabbi Akiva, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and many others.Even that Hebrew is a very complex language, you are not left confused with even more questions in your mind like with the most works on Kabballah. I love the softness and the simplicity of language employed by Mary Silva. All the information given in this book is well researched and documented. There is no clutter of terminology or meanings. In my opinion, this book goes under the category MUST READ if you want to understand Kabbalah.
